BASEMENT FLOOR SLAB

Concrete Floor Slab Poured

Yesterday I was able to stop by the Starter Home 2.0 project site a couple of times during lunch and after work to get some pictures of the concrete floor slab, that was poured in the morning, being troweled as well as the finished product. One of the nice things about this particular property is that the soil has never been disturbed and has excellent stability and bearing capacity, which eliminates the need for any type of steel reinforcing in the slab, cutting down on that extra labor and material cost. A couple of control joints were formed in the slab to control potential cracking, and now the stage is set for framing to begin later today.
