ATTIC ACCESS

NEW CEILING OPENING CUT

One of the things that I try and make clear with the contractors and subcontractors I work with on my Home 2.0 projects is that I'm always open to suggestions for how to improve the project if there is a better way of doing something than what I show on my drawings. I might not always go along with it, but I will be sure to at least listen. One such suggestion that is being implemented came months ago from the lead framer to relocate the attic access opening in the ceiling to not be in the second floor hallway as shown on the plans, which is a highly visible location. Instead, it was agreed to move that opening to the master bedroom closet to be more out of sight. That opening was cut in last week and will provide a place for the insulation crew to get up in the attic and spray insulation above the ceiling in upcoming weeks.
