GASSING UP

Interior Gas Piping Installation

Wednesday was a busy day at the Oakley Home 2.0 site with the electrician, HVAC contractor and plumbers all on site, but this particular blog post will focus on the interior gas pipe installation. As was the case with the Starter Home 2.0 project in Pleasant Ridge, natural gas service is available at the street. and with the sewer and water coming in along the southwest side of the house, it was determined that the gas will need to enter the building along the north side of the home to stay out of the way of those undergrounds. In preparation for the connection to the main line, the plumbers were able to stub out the gas pipe for exterior hookup to the meter that will be supplied by Duke Energy and plumb the first run of gas piping to the furnace. Additional gas pipes will be installed to serve the basement water heater and range in the kitchen, but below are images showing the progress thus far.
