Front Porch Light & Lock Technology
One of the unique features being implemented into the design and construction of the Oakley Home 2.0 @ 3874 Isabella is the smart technology integration of the front porch light and lock, which will be able to be controlled from an app on the homeowner's phone.
So how is this useful? Imagine you as the homeowner are working late or have obligations that keep you out until after dark and you forgot to turn on the front porch light. No worries, just take out your phone and turn it on remotely. Now imagine you are out and about and have house guests staying over or a family member that needs to be let in, but doesn't have a key to the house. Again no worries, just use the app and unlock the front entry door from that.
On a similar note related to safety, smart technology is also being implemented into the home's smoke detector system such that the moment smoke is detected, the fire department is immediately notified in addition to the alarm sounding. This saves precious time in getting first responders to the scene as quickly as possible in the event of a fire.
These systems are currently hard wired into the home, and more to come on the Home 2.0 Blog once they are fully installed.
