THE NOOK IS IN

Built-in Reading Nook Construction

Friday was a fun day for me over at the Oakley Home 2.0 project seeing the reading nook I detailed getting built. I've blogged about the nook in past blog posts from the initial concept, to the construction drawing, but it is most fulfilling for me as an architect seeing the actual physical construction of the object. Among the nook's signature features are built-in storage spaces under the bench and a whiteboard wall that can be written on with dry erase markers. A pendant light will eventually be installed above the nook and the bench seat is sized for a cushion to be easily added for increased comfort. Below are some images of the aforementioned nook.
